As digital transformation reshapes healthcare delivery, nurses find themselves at the forefront of this revolution—yet many lack the essential digital competencies to navigate these changes effectively. This gap between technological advancement and nursing capabilities presents both a challenge and an opportunity for vocational education and training (VET).
Our Mission
We're building comprehensive nursing informatics education programs that serve both aspiring nurses in initial VET and experienced professionals seeking continuous development. By integrating digital skills into nursing education, we're preparing a workforce that can confidently leverage technology to enhance patient care and advance their careers.
Regional Implementation
In Kosovo, aligned with the national Education Strategy Plan, we're introducing nursing informatics to secondary-level nursing students while establishing continuing education pathways for practicing nurses. The Kosovo Chamber of Nurses has committed to recognizing these qualifications.
In Israel, we're addressing the national digital health strategy by equipping professional nurses with specialized telehealth and telenursing capabilities. We're pursuing Ministry of Health accreditation to ensure these credentials meet national standards.
Program Structure
Working closely with healthcare employers and educational institutions, we're developing locally-relevant curricula delivered through:
-
Nano-courses: Short, focused modules for specific digital competencies (minimum 10 per country)
-
Certificate programs: Comprehensive training worth up to 20 ECTS credits, enrolling at least 15 participants per cohort
All learning materials will be openly accessible through a sustainable web-based repository, ensuring continued impact beyond the project's duration.
Lasting Impact
This initiative transforms VET providers into centers of excellence for digital nursing education, establishing blended learning frameworks that combine the best of online and in-person instruction. By creating reusable educational resources and proven instructional designs, we're building the foundation for ongoing professional development in nursing informatics across both regions.
